Father Lacombe Care Centre Foundation
Charitable Business Registration Number (Foundation): 85529 - 7867 - RR0001
In partnership with Alberta Health Services, The Father Lacombe Care Centre Foundation is laying the groundwork to fund and build a new 160-bed care centre on land across the road from the existing facility. The new building will offer larger resident rooms in ten 16-bed units, larger spaces for gatherings and programs and an efficient and convenient space configuration throughout the centre. In short, the new state-of-the-art facility will ensure residents and families receive the exceptional care they have come to expect over the past 100 years.
But the need is urgent, and we need your help.
Why Donate?
At any accredited care centre in Alberta , the provincial government pays for health care and some capital costs. The provincial government also determines the accommodation fees residents must pay for food, lodging and basic facility operation and upkeep.
However, the excellent care required by the residents can only be properly delivered with specialized equipment such as lifts, baths, and beds. These costs can be significant, and are not funded.
As a non-profit registered charitable facility, Father Lacombe Care Centre seeks donations for necessary unfunded specialized equipment from the larger community to ensure that everyone in our care enjoys the same quality of life, regardless of his or her ability to pay.
We are operated by the Father Albert Lacombe Home (Society) —a charitable organization authorized to issue donor receipts for income tax purposes, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency regulations.
There are many meaningful ways to make a donation to Father Lacombe Care Centre most meaningful to you.

Tribute in Memorial
At any time you can make a donation in the name (or the memory) of a person who had a positive impact on your life.
Designated Programs
You can give to meaningful support programs that prove to have therapeutic value such as music, art, hobbies and crafts, or gardening. You can also give to support palliative or respite care, community outings and social interactions, staff training or any of the other programs and services that enhance resident quality of life.
Gifts in Kind
Computers, jewelry, art—there are many items that are useful and/or valuable that can be accepted as donations to Father Lacombe Care Centre. Charitable tax receipts can be issued according to the fair market value of the item.
Annual Campaigns
Once or twice a year Father Lacombe Care Centre will make a special request for funding—often for a major item we urgently need. Your response to these requests is very important to our ability to acquire them for our residents.
Fundraising and other Event Activities
Throughout the year we have events at the Centre (or at larger venues) that help raise funds for our program and equipment costs. Purchasing a ticket, being a sponsor, or providing a prize are all ways donors can contribute to the success of these events.
Volunteer Incentive Programs and Corporate Matching Gifts
Many employers encourage their employees, both active and retired, to support their communities. Volunteer Incentive programs may recognize volunteerism with a donation to the organization where the employee/spouse volunteers. Corporate Matching Gifts will match individual or combined employee donations to an organization.
Please ask your company about matching gift or volunteer incentive programs.
Leave a Gift in Your Will
A will assures your family and loved ones are provided for as well as the charities you care about most. A tax-deductible receipt for the amount of the gift can also have a beneficial impact on estate taxes.
